Talladega Superspeedway Infield Tunnel and Fan Zone

triangle triangle 2

In 2018, Krebs was contracted by Taylor Corporation and Hoar Construction to be part of their design-build team.  Krebs was contracted to perform the civil site design for the Infield Tunnel and Fan Zone.  The project consisted of a new tunnel under Turn Number 3 that would accommodate the car haulers and large equipment/trucks.  Until the completion of this project, the track would need to shut down for these vehicles to enter the infield.  The design-build of this project had to be completed in approximately 6 months between the October and April races.

The Fan Zone consisted of new garages, pit road access, victory lane, and Big Bills (a large gathering area) that allows fans up close and personal access to the drivers, race, and garages.  The project also had to be completed between the April and October races.

Both of these projects were delivered on time and under budget.
